Join Rippowam Labs the 3rd Saturday of every month to take part in their newest educational offering – the Project Box Club. Students will receive a box of parts and will be led through the process of building and/or coding it until it is alive and running on its own. No experience necessary!
Each project will be designed to build out your tech toolset. By the end of this series, you will be the baddest geek on the block.
The projects will be centered around the following technologies and skills:
- Arduino
- Raspberry Pi (UNIX)
- Android
- Computer hacking
- IoT (Internet of things)
- Robotics
- Welding
- Soldering
The first class will take place October 21st at our facility on 425 Fairfield Avenue. Since the Halloween season will be in full swing, we will be building something that will scare the daylights out of the trick-or-treaters visiting your house … It will work something like this,, except we’ll be providing our own special “twist.”
You’ll learn how to program and wire an Arduino to accept input from a distance sensor and control a servo and a sound card.
Students should bring their own carved (and hollowed-out) pumpkin – but we’ll provide the rest.
**Students are invited to bring their parents, to join them in the learning process.
